An Immersive reminiscence imbued with the history of Afro Americans
Captivating concepts that explore the Black Experience
Captivating concepts that explore the Black Experience
Skulpting Kulture creates uninhibited conceptual artwork that tells ethnically rich stories and explores the experiences of a broad disparate of cultures, with a primary focus on the Black Experience. Through thought-provoking sculpture, the art triggers multiple emotions, unmasking reality and providing an opportunity for hard conversations.
I have been working as a professional artist for over 2 years, specializing in sculpture and mixed media. My work has been featured at MUDUC, EMERGENCE-Studio Channel Islanda, and the Beverly Hills Art Show.
My work is influenced by the vibrancy created with textures of natural elements that evoke emotions and relay experiences of Afro Americans. I strive to create pieces that are both visually stunning and sensationally impactful.
I place a direct lens on history (sometimes uncomfortable), culture, traditions, struggle, sacrifice, hope, success, redemption, and reemergence. My art expresses the very best and the worst of the Black Experience. It also magnifies inherent societal and economical disparities giving an answer to those who ask why Black America still struggles. “If my sculptures do not tell you a story then you really aren’t listening.“
I begin each piece with an open vision that allows one to not only be shown something but to become a part of something. I generally appreciate vernacular, raw and natural the materials and elements. I allow instinct directives to guide my hands to work in correlation with the intended conceptual. For me the process of creating art should be relaxing and as satisfying as the finished piece.
Explore my collection of unique and evocative artworks inspired by a complexity of human experiences of Black America. I invest in a multitude of themes relating to the cosmology of contributions, customs, traditions, along with the challenges, sacrifices, and struggles of the African Diaspora.
